From Ipswich to Woolloongabba: Our First Keg Swap with Easy Times Brewing

Here at Stony Creek Brewing, we believe great beer should bring people together. That’s why we’ve launched a new initiative at our taproom in Ipswich Guest Taps, featuring independent, Australian-owned craft breweries from near and far.
Our goal? To help our customers discover new, independently brewed beers and support other small breweries while we’re at it.
We kicked things off with a proper road trip.
Yes, we sent our beloved Grogfather (aka Deryk) off to Woolloongabba with a keg of our bold 8% Belgian Strong Ale strapped securely in the car. Destination: Easy Times Brewing Co., where James Trigg and his team welcomed the keg with open arms and, we assume, pint glasses.
In return, Deryk brought back a surprise keg from Easy Times that’s now pouring at 88 Limestone Street, giving our customers a chance to experience another slice of Queensland’s independent beer scene.
What’s the big idea? This isn’t just about swapping kegs. It’s about building genuine connections between brewers, between venues, and most importantly, between communities. If someone tries Easy Times here in Ipswich and loves it, maybe they’ll head to the Gabba next weekend. And vice versa.
We’re even building an independent-only bottle shop right here at the brewery, featuring nothing but Australian-made, independently-owned beers. Why? Because we believe in collaboration, not competition.
And yes, James has fancy digital tap decals. We’ve still got our blue tack and acrylic specials. They work just fine.
Want to get involved? Come down, try the collab brews, support small business, and join us on this mission to keep beer independent.
More swaps are coming so stay tuned, and bring your thirst.
Cheers,The Stony Creek Brewing Team
